Someone comes to mind.

Give that thought somewhere to go.

Leave a Light, send a line, or make a Postcard for one person you trust. Their answer can come back just as simply. No feed, score, or last seen.

For iPhone and Apple Watch.

Near open to one person's Reach room, with a recent deliberate reach in their shared space.
Send. Feel. Return.

A small act can come back as a Light.

Choose the person. Send something small. Near keeps the moment one-to-one, and when they tap back, you feel their Light return.

You
Them

You send a line. They tap back. Their Light comes back — wordless, brief.

An ordinary afternoon, a small “thinking of you,” or a hard night. The moment can end here. No read receipt, no last seen, no pressure to keep talking.

A few ways to show up

Not every thought needs to become a conversation.

Near gives one relationship a place for the kind of small thing that is easy to mean and awkward to send in a normal chat.

Light

Wordless presence. Leave it on, let it fade, and ask for nothing back.

Line

A few direct words in the moment, chosen or written by you.

Postcard

A photo, voice, and words can arrive as one deliberate keepsake instead of another attachment.

Their answer can be this small.

Before they install Near

A Light can arrive before Near does.

Send a Light to someone who does not have Near yet and, on a supported iPhone, they can open the bounded Light experience as an App Clip first. Installing the full app is optional; the Light itself is already the moment.

No bond or reply is created inside the App Clip. It is one deliberate Light, then a choice to stop or continue.

On Apple Watch

Reach without opening your phone.

Choose a line from your wrist. Their answer can return there too, keeping the act close without turning it into a conversation you have to manage.

Private by design · No company servers

Only what you choose moves between people.

Near is engineered without company servers. Your own private material stays in your Apple ecosystem, and deliberate reaches travel through Apple's private iCloud infrastructure to the person you chose.

Your iPhone & Watch The one person you reach

Zero Near company servers in between · No advertising or third-party tracking

No Near account

No company account, password, social graph, advertising profile, or general Near backend is required for the core.

Your Hold is yours

Your private Hold continuity can sync across your own Apple devices. Near never turns it into ambient relationship data.

No ranking people

No closeness score, last active, response-time pressure, mood map, or hidden relationship priority.

Privacy stays free

Reaching, receiving, relationship capacity, your own records, privacy, and safety are not Supporter upsells.

No feed, location map, mood score, streak, company analytics, or automatic sharing from Hold.

And when words are hard

The same space is already there.

You do not have to explain everything. Leave a Light. Choose one line. Tap back. The moment can end there, without a read receipt or a conversation debt.

Stay near me. I'm here.
Hold

Keep what helps, privately.

Hold keeps today's page, Comfort, your notes, and earlier entries together. Nothing leaves automatically. A selected photo can become the start of a Postcard, but you choose the person and review the act before anything is shared.
